Can you please provide the following to help deal with this problem:
The file /var/log/Xorg.0.log
output of "xprop -root > xprop.log"
output of "gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals > gconftool-2.log"
Please attach both xprop.log and gconftool-2.log as separate attachments along
with the Xorg.0.log file.
