I think you don't understand what the actual bug is.
My sound is working correctly (I tested it in different applications), but I'm 
missing a simple "test" in the system settings, so I can't test the sound 
directly after OS installation or after change of sound settings.
To test sounds I have to install/run different applications and search for some 
sound files, etc.
The KDE3.5 and many other OS do have a "test" directly in sound settings panel, 
so you can easily test every new setting, or check the sound right after OS 
installation.
