I recently upgraded to intrepid and now have exactly the same problem. Even though under administration>hardware it shows that the driver is running, my webcam is not recognized in Skype, cheese, or camorama. My kernel is 2.6.27-8-generic. Is this being worked on or is there a solution to this yet?
