Public bug reported:

My Computer is DELL Optiplex 330.
I tried to install Ubuntu 8.10 i386 on it.
I downloaded the ubuntu 8.10 i386 desktop cd-image from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/, then burned the cd image onto a cd.
I verified that the content of cd was same as the cd-image. (No error happened
when burn cd)
Then I use this cd to boot the computer.
Then I choose "Install Ubuntu".
But error happened: I pressed CTRL+ALT+F1 then saw many messages as follows:

   end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 1431680
Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block xxxxx,

I cannot install 8.10.

I am sure that my CD-ROM is not broken. Because if I use 8.04 i386 CD, I
can install 8.04 on my computer.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
