I cannot enclose the system log right now (not at home) - I can do it tonight, but you won't see anything more than you have already posted above (no mention of boincmgr in my syslog). Have you also noticed that pdflush is *always* the first program frozen - could be a coincidence, maybe not
I also tried the kernel options "nohz=off highres=off" - did not fix the issue either Talking about Boinc - I found on the Internet a forum telling that the current Boinc Linux client can freeze - the beta is supposed to fix the issue - I tried the beta, it doesn't - same issue (in addition to other problems ...)
