Hi Adriaan, The bios page is at page 3 under UMA section. My default was 1MB and I changed it to 8MB and after rebooting I had no more problem with the mouse disappearing.
I also noticed on my end that the Ubuntu loading page on startup has a higher resolution look now than it was before. Hope this info helps.
