The driver of some device can't handle the suspend/hibernate event as expected from our investigation. After upgraded to Intrepid final, we can't reproduce it on HP-2230s. But I can still reproduce this issue on SONY Vaio VGN-Z540. There's a patch fixing this bug for the SONY laptop which already in kernel 2.6.28-rc3:
