I have the same problem. I do not understand: WHy is there a general interfaces 
file while each user can establish his own network? THat is not consistent.

ANd while You on it: Redesign this whole file! Here is my proposal
<auto> eth0/ath0/mobile/dsl static ip/dhcp
address
subnet
gateway
dns1
dns2
...
search domain1
search domain2
...

and so on

Please establish interfaces for each user. And please ensure that all networks 
are written in correctly! I installed 3 networks and only one was listed in the 
interfaces file.
ANd by the way: The MAC-Id is fixed for each device. Why is there drop-down 
list instead of a simple textfield in the "new-network" mask, which lists all 
available mac-ids? I still have to look up the mac via ifconfig.
