I'm a long-time Linux user, so bug-reporting isn't entirely new to me. However, in this particular case, I really do not know whether the problem is with Xorg, KDE, fontconfig, or some other package. That's why I went to the trouble of creating detailed screenshots, so that someone with more knowledge about the packages would be able to figure out where the problem was. I'm quite willing to add more information to this bug, in any way I can. So if you can tell me how to distinguish between Xorg, KDE, Gnome, fontconfig, and/or any other packages, I'll happily figure it out and append the information to this bug. PS. Because of this font issue, I have chosen to keep my system on Feisty Fawn (7.04) for now, even though it is no longer supported. Obviously, I'd like to upgrade, but I won't do that until I am sure that an upgraded system will not be a step backwards.
