I burned http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/intrepid-alternate-amd64.iso to CD. Then I use the CD to boot the computer. I press Ctrl+Alt+F1 and I saw >10 messages "end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector xxxxx, Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block xxxxx", however, these messages soon disappeared. Then I can select which hard-disk partition to install Ubuntu. I believe that I can install Ubuntu alternate x86_64 on Acer Aspire 4310.
