Hello Bryce, Since reporting this bug more than a month ago, I have upgraded my machine to 8.10 (Ibex) and the new version does not appear to have bug.
Meanwhile, I am sending the information that you requested from another machine (running gutsy) which was displaying the same problem. I am connecting to it remotely and I am not if the Xorg.0.log file will be useful. The xorg.conf file has not been modified from the system generated. I will, however, try to get the information from another machine which is running Hardy. . Thanks for looking at the bug.
