Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

Ubuntu Release: 8.10
package version: 124-9

The following line in '/etc/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-input.rules'
recognizes the Wacom Tablet Intuos 2 as a joystick instead of a mouse:

ATTRS{modalias}=="input:*-*a[068],*|input:*-*a*,[68],*m*",
ATTRS{modalias}!="input:*-*k*14A,*r*", ENV{ID_CLASS}="joystick"

Commenting out the line solves the problem.
