The Dell Studio 15 with an Intel X3100 video chipse has the exact same problem. But what's worse is that Dell is selling these computers with Ubuntu preinstalled, and shipping them out with this error without even testing to see that they boot up. If anyone finds a fix for this, let me know as it is probably worth trying on the Dell Studio 15.
