Public bug reported: $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10
I couldn't identify the package that causes the bug. My printer (Ricoh IPSiO NX730N) won't print documents after upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10. I usually use Ricoh ps driver Ver.3.0.1 (265 KB) on Ubuntu 8.04 which can be downloaded from the following website. http://support.ricoh.com/bbv2/html/dr_ut_d/ipsio/model/nx630/winxp/winxp.htm http://support.ricoh.com/w/bb/pub_j/dr_ut_d/4100001/4100001007/V301/5121932/121932.exe Actually the file (121932.exe) is a executable one for windows. I extract .PPD from this file with using wine. $ wine 121932.exe And I can obtain the printer driver for NX730N, which is 121932/XP_VISTA/DISK1/RINX73N3.PPD . By going to "System -> System management -> Printing," I apply this RINX73N3.PPD for Ricoh IPSiO NX730N printer. In the above procedures, the printer surely worked on 8.04, but it wouldn't after upgrading to 8.10. Currently, there is no error log in /var/log/cups/error_log. $ sudo cat /etc/cups/cupsd.conf # # # Sample configuration file for the Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) # scheduler.
