Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
This problem is similar to others mentioned, but this only affects wine with firefox. I'm posting it in both forums because who knows which is the problem? If I try to open a file from the Internet to use a specific wine program Firefox doesn't recognize the extension. This has happened with STEAM and the (steam) extension. http://cdn.steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi It also used to happens with curseui and the psyn: prefix. http://wow.curse.com/client/ I'd assume it happens with all program associations in wine. I'm also posting this under wine errors. 1) I'm using Ubuntu Irritating Ibex 8.10 2a) Firefox 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 2b) 1.1.8~winehq0~ubuntu~8.10-0ubuntu1 3)I'm expecting to open a file from a site especially designed for the program I'm using and have the program open it. Programs I've used in wine include Curseui and Steam <see above> 4) got an error message "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (steam) isn't associated with any program."
