I seem to be having the same or at least quite similar problem (don't know enough about ubuntu to be sure):
After updating to 8.10 my desktop computer has started having irregular kernel panics (caps lock & scroll lock flashing, requiring hard boot) almost every day. Most of the time either Firefox or Transmission has been running before the crash. (But then again most of the time one of them is running even when the system stays up.) There also seems to be general unstability using the Intrepid - programs such as Rythmbox, Amarok, Firefox crash regularly. My was system was quite stable before when using 8.04 and still is with Windows XP. I'd be happy to provide additional information but I'm not sure what is relevant for this. -- System crashes using firefox / network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297110 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
