Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

1) Ubuntu 8.10
2) update-manager: Installed: 1:0.93.34
3) & 4)

I have successfully upgraded an 8.04 system to 8.10, and have
subsequently run the GNOME Update Manager many times.

But now the update manager will launch and hang, showing a status of
"Building dependency tree".

Running from the command line seems fine. "sudo apt-get update" followed
by "sudo apt-get upgrade" shows that everything is up to date.

$ sudo apt-get upgrade
