Hi, for me it is the same problem as bonfire89 described. See also: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6235705 and the link to the other thread Franko30 (me) gave there.
I use a German Transtec Senyo 600 mini PC with laptop hardware - and the Intel 945GM chip. The last working Ubuntu version was 7.10 (alternate install CD) - an update to 8.04 worked - but after updating to 8.10 the monitor (1280x1024 Samsung LCD) stayed dark. After editing the xorg.conf to use the i810 driver instead of the intel driver, I got the following error message when gdm is starting: "Ubuntu is running in low graphics mode (...) (EE) No devices detected. " The only way is to use the vesa driver - and that gives me a mximum resolution of 800x600. -- Intrepid ibex does not configure intel 945 properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278259 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
