I have this behaviour too. I'm also running Intrepid and I also have an ipw2200. First, I have a connection with works, but after a couple of minutes the connection drops although the applet shows a connection. To clarify: I only connect to two networks: at home (WPA-PSK, works ok as the strength of the signal is very high) and at my university. Here, this behaviour occurs The network has the following characteristics: - a lot of acces points with the same name and security throughout the building - security: WPA2 entrepise with EAP TTLS (PAP)
ifdown and ifup do no work (my network card is named eth1): sudo ifdown eth1: ifdown: interface eth1 not configured sudo ifup eth1: Ignoring unknown interface eth1=eth1 Also, dmesg|grep ipw2200 does not reveal errors.
