Thank you for this bug report. I uploaded a new upstream translation to Launchpad some weeks ago. This change hasn't been included in an language pack yet but I think the »Passwort« problem should now be fixed in Launchpad.
Are you really sure that the »Buddys« does not affect the upstream translation? When I take a look at this http://developer.pidgin.im/l10n/de.po I find »Buddys« in that po-file. Maybe this is not the newest upstream translation. If you can tell me where to find the newest upstream translation I would import the newer one to Launchpad.
