@pablomme: Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Finally I found a version of backports that works: 2.6.27-7-generic=2.6.27-7.4 . Summing up, each and every one of the -proposed versions are broken, both 2.6.27-10.8 and 2.6.27-7.6 , with linux-image-generic 2.6.27-7.16 and 2.6.27-10.20 kernels respectively.
I will try this one to see if the iwl3945 wifi works better (by now I'm not seeing the packet loss I'm used to and it associated fine, but I won't declare this a win yet until it gets more testing). BTW it sucks that update-manager will not take into account the forbid-version from aptitude... -- Unkown symbol while loading iwl3945 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294667 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
