This error usually means that the msttcorefonts installer cannot connect to the internet, because the network is unavailable or because the system is behind a proxy (the installer does not check for proxy settings - bug 56880 ).
Does this error happen every time you try to update, or did it just happen once? If every time, is the other end of your wi-fi connection a corporate or school network or other LAN?
