After I sent a "love letter" to realtek, they sent me updated drivers (see attachment). Package is still named r1023, but the date has changed (from 0928 to 1118) and of course the source code. I'm using it right now and it works much more stable for me than the old one, although I'm still getting huge latencies from time to time.
