Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: slocate

When running ubuntu on vmware, using VMWare's "Shared Folders" feature,
the shared folders are mounted under /mnt/hgfs. However, entry is
visible in the mount table.

When updatedb runs with the defaults, and scans /mnt/hgfs the guest CPU
is totally taken up by vmware-guestd, and both the host and guest are
very, very slow, since vmware-guestd is not particuarly efficient.

I would suggest adding at least /mnt/hgfs to the default exclusion list,
perhaps even /mnt (/media is there already).

     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed

updatedb scans /mnt (hence /mnt/hgfs) by default
