I can confirm this on a fresh install of intrepid x86 with all the latest updates and vnc4server installed. It works fine under normal X but under Xvnc, gnome-settings-daemon crashes every time it tries to start. With nothing disabled, it segfaults when initializing the mouse plugin. After disabling the mouse plugin, it will get a BadWindow message as described above. Disabling the keyboard plugin in addition makes it run without a problem.
