Public bug reported:

I have Democracy Player installed, on edgy. (It is possible that I
installed it from somewhere outside the Ubuntu repositories from a
third-party deb; I don't remember, and I don't know how to find out.
apt-cache policy democracyplayer says "Installed: 0.8.5-1ubuntu" and
apt-cache show democracyplayer has "Origin: Ubuntu", so probably not.)
In Add/Remove Applications, if I try and untick Democracy Player, I get
the following popup error dialog:

Democracy TV cannot be installed on your computer type (i386)

Either the application requires special hardware features or the vendor
decided to not support your computer type.

For a start this is clearly a total lie since I *have* it installed;
secondly I don't want to install it, I want to *remove* it; thirdly,
since that pops up, I can't remove the package.

** Affects: gnome-app-install (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
