Then it is weirdly weird.

Please reboot and strace kmail.

strace kmail --nofork > ~/kmail.strace 2>&1

eventually you need to drop the --nofork, I am not sure if kmail
requires it. Once kmail is up and running trigger the crash. Then attach
the file kmail.strace from your home directory to this bug.
