Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Two common reasons for the error "mount:/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device." 
are: 
1) The floppy is defective or corrupt.
2) Trying to mount the drive while it's empty (no disk in it). 

Once you're sure those are not the problem,
3) Please run the command "gnome-mount -v -b -d /dev/fd0" and attach (don't 
paste) the output to this bug report.
4) Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after a fresh boot and attach 
(don't paste) the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report.
