Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

1) Ubuntu 8.10
2) Installed: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

What happens:

Go to Page Setup in either Eye of Gnome or Gimp ->
Set Page Size to CD/DVD 140mm x 140 mm ->
Apply

Go to Page Setup again ->
Page Size to IS set to CD/DVD BUT 49.4mm x 49.4 mm ->
Apply

Go to Page Setup again ->
Page Size to IS set to CD/DVD BUT 17.4mm x 17.4 mm ->
Apply

and again, and again

I am using a Canon MP500, which is able to print on CD/DVD.
The problem occurs independently of the installed driver.
I already tested Gutenprint and Turboprint.
The problem also occurs in a automatically configured system using a LIVE-CD.
