Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I'm running thunderbird 2.0.0.18 on ubuntu 8.10
any time I try to delete a message a box flashes up stating that messages could
not be moved or copied to folder trash because writing to folder failed. To
gain disk space choose empty trash and compact folders.

I have tried doing this and nothing has happened.

Any advice?
