Here's something interesting on the 2.6.28-2-generic kernel (now that they've gotten rid of the "-ub"): I booted with thermal control disabled as above, and I managed to boot the thing with ACPI enabled -- but this time it OOPS'd out on the battery module. Additionally, the system hung at the following line, for about 5 whole minutes, and then surprised me by resuming booting. Here's the line it hung at: [ 22.827451] input: PS/2 Generic Mouse as /devices/platform/i8042/serio4/serio5/input/input7
I am attaching the dmesg output from this time of booting. ** Attachment added: "dmesg from booting with thermal control disabled" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20273348/battery-null-pointer-dereference.log -- [intrepid] Live CD not booting on Intel Centrino Laptop with GME chipset - possibly ACPI https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
