Sony Aquos?... isn't Aquos a Sanyo?.... and thinking about it maybe you want to see why your TV's EDID is not getting properly detected.... maybe dropping to console, closing X, and restarting it with the startx -- -logverbose 6 might help you see what is going on through the /var/log/Xorg.0.log log...
