you can close this item, I loaded 7.10, and upgraded to 8.04, the computer is working, however, due to other issues, I have not been using this computer for the last month. I have change my granddaughter's computer to Ubuntu 8.10 from windows, and have been tweaking it for her to use. Also, as long as I do not have more than 2 kernels loaded into grub, the old computer seems to work ok. I found a program that deletes the oldest kernels when a new one comes out, so it helps.
