Whoa. Just tried this: modprobe snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1 And it worked. I think the si3054 is related to the modem on my board. Judging by the lack of any word about the modem in lspci I guess the same card is controlling both sound and modem.
The hg version of alsa-drivers I installed over the current modules (and replaced them with the stock Ubuntu ones later) also failed without any parameter, but after first try with probe_mask=1 they started to work with probe_mask=3. With probe_mask=3 I got more /dev/pcm* devices than usual and caller_id in alsamixer :-). The stock kernel reacts to different probe_masks somewhat inconsistently, I can try to investigate a bit further if that would be of any help but I am not a kernel hacker (yet :-)) and my capabilities are somewhat limited. -- Intel HDA is not working anymore https://launchpad.net/bugs/72851 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
