@Jojo It work for me. Thank you very very soooooooo much. I can hear music, great quality sounds, on integrated 5.1 speakers and my headphones works too. I was around for few days installing new alsa from source via scripts I found on forums and because of that I had to reinstall Ubuntu on and on. But with this simple two lines added to alsa-base my nightmares are over and goodbay f..... Vista. Thanks ones again and I wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...
This is what I have done: Install fresh Ubuntu 8.10 Update system and reboot Install proprietary graphics driver for NVIDIA cards (177) and reboot Open terminal and type: sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base Add this to the end: # added by myself alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel model=auto Reboot and it works perfectly. For me this bug is solved thanks Jojo. -- No sound on Acer Aspire 8920G with H.Heron 8.04 Beta x86_64 and Realtek ALC889 and Intel HDA 82801H https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
