I used a livecd of intrepid on a dv5 1000 laptop, and I can confirm that
wireless doesnt work, and the touch button doesn't work. I think there
is a driver for the 5100 intel wireless card, that is opensource. So, I
suspect that the reason that this doesn't work OOTB has to do with the
button.
