Also the CD itself is fully browsable even without wine installed, so this really isn't directly related with Wine, but is directly related with the user experience of the Gnome desktop itself. So IMO this is a Gnome bug. Otherwise we are pretty much saying the equal to "PNGs should not be thumbnailed unless Gimp is installed".
