It has something to do with the number of fonts installed on your system. Same thing happens to me. The developer has some sort of workaround, one that I am not bright enough to implement, but I don't believe it's here in Launchpad. Glabel bugs are reported either on Bugzilla or right on the Sourceforge site... I forget. Check around there, or start uninstalling fonts you are never going to use.
