DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=9.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=jaunty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)" GNOME ~$ uname -r 2.6.28-3-generic Updating my Jaunty amd64 OS today dec. 20th, 2008: Package update: xserver-xorg-input-wacom_1:0.8.1.6-1ubuntu1 to 1:0.8.1.6-1ubuntu2 kills my NetworkManager application (nm-applet). What happens - Running mentioned update using wlan separately, because indicating same malfunction on another Notebook, after finishing these update, the NetworkManger-Applet indicates the >>total<< shutdown of the running connections. Using the special function-key (hardwired) providing on-off wlan including LED (wlan-indicator) to the "off-position" (led will be disabled) the network is connecting now and vice versa.
