See also: http://liferea.sourceforge.net/ Installation of V1.4.23 _did solve_ problem of new items added to News Bin disappearing on Liferea restart. Installation of V1.4.23 _did not solve_ problem of "deletion" of News Bin items on upgrade. These items are apparently permanently lost. (this is not a compliant of any kind against maintainer, just statement of information so others can make informed choices about what to do; so others don't have to repeat my work) V1.4.23 seems to work a-okay for me.
