I will try to install something intrepid/jaunty -64 on the same partition I reported the failure earlier, but I do not think this has to do with bug 149832, as the install partition was already occupied with ext3 (and Gutsy-386). But it could have something to do with the swapping/addition of the drives.
as far as I can remember: starting situation: sda1: WinXP (ntfs), sda2,3,5,6,7,8,9 contains OS/2, swap partition and data on HPFS, Fat32 and JFS(os/2) drives sdb1: gutsy /; sdb5: linux swap; sdb6 gutsy /home added 1 new drive as sda, old sda connected as sdb, no readable partitions for WinXP on new sda, so still on C: (and working, but failed later due to NTFS-trouble) old sdb connected as sdc installed hardy 386 -alpha4 on sda1/sda6, copied settings/mail from sdc6 (old home) I seem to remember after this installation Grub was able to start gutsy from sdc1 installed hardy 64 -alpha5 on sdc1 as / and sda6 mounted as /home grub error 17 when starting hardy 64 from sdc1 hardy-386 from sda1 still works In the mean time, i upgraded the hardy -386 alpha4 to intrepid -386 -- unable to install hardy twice https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194999 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
