Public bug reported: I installed the new iPlayer Desktop beta. I downloaded a program fine but it wouldn't play. I tried opening the file directly and got the following error when opening in Totem:
"The following codecs are not installed audio/x-gst-fourcc-enca decoder video/x-gst-fourcc-encv decoder" I noticed that the package 'adobe-certs' should not be installed (http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/download_programmes/desktop_linux), but when I tried to remove it from synaptic it said that Adobe Air also needs to be removed, so I did that. Now I cannot re-install the software from the bbc site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/install/bbc_iplayer_desktop). Also, the 'Add/Remove Applications' program shows an empty list: "There is no matching application available" is shown when I select All available applications. (Is there a command I can run to help with this issue?) Following the advice from andyverran (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbiplayer/F7331805?thread=6169036) didn't help play the downloaded file. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- BBC iPlayer Desktop doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
