Haha, no problem. I like to think I know what I'm doing (at least part of the time anyways). I have two things for you to do next.
First, your suspend/hibernate issues are a different bug, and should be reported in a new bug report. We will handle that issue separately. Second, it appears your bootup problem was a result of a bug in usplash. I'm going to file the bug against that package, and ask for some more information so that our developers can work on finding the source, and fixing, this bug in the next release/update of Ubuntu. Here's what I need you to do. 1.) Open a terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) 2.) Enter the following commands (after the ":") : sudo lspci -vvnn > ~/Desktop/lspci-vvnn.txt : cat /boot/grub/menu.lst > ~/Desktop/menu.lst : cat /etc/usplash.conf > ~/Desktop/usplash.conf : uname -a > ~/Desktop/uname-a.txt 3.) Upload the log files you created above to launchpad as *separate attachments.* It is very difficult to triage this text files if they are archived before uploading. They will be created on your desktop and have the following names: lspci-vvnn.txt menu.lst usplash.conf uname-a.txt Thanks in advance for your help! ** Changed in: usplash (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => usplash -- Intrepid hangs after usplash for i830MG and i845 video cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308624 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
