Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: at-spi

rhythmbox uses gnome-settings-daemon GrabMediaKeys. When this keys are grabbed
pressing .
Note: those are acpi keys in my use case.
gdb leads me to think it is stuck in the at-spi-registryd via corba when the
signal window:create is emitted. Ie I added printf with gettimeofday without
finding a bottleneck in registry.c impl_registry_notify_event though that s the
corba calls that looks the culrprit. Without rhythmbox focused (grabbing the
keys) it works. With rhythmbox and without at-spi-registryd it works ... I am
ready for test if this is not fully reproducible.
It is highly likely that this affect all key grabbers (in that
gnome-settings-daemon does nothing specific when it grab those at the request
of rhythmbox).

The freeze apply to all the gnome-desktop (it seems to happens the gtk
level).

Regards
Alban
