Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic

When trying to mount an audio CD, I got the following error :

# mount /cdrom
mount: block device /dev/scd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/scd0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

this bug seemed to have been reported all over the place : #244444 #214413

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/214413

and it also seem to be a regression in 2.6.27 that also occured to past kernel
(2.6.20-16) : #120389
