This isn't a bug in gnome-games, it seems to be a bug in X driver (see an attachement).
Bug description: I have the same bug with Asleriot. The X closes and tries to restart but in vain. See X.org log in attachement below. After crash it shows only cursor or blank screen. I use Compiz.
