Don't worry, this is just a matter of convention, it does not affect the work by the team.
If somebody could provide a kernel package (for old versions like 2.6.20 or for patched versions) usable in Intrepid, we could make other tests to find the root cause of the problem. This would allow to check the nice informations provided by Thomas Pi.
