I've had a stuck ctrl key that may be related the "hotkeys-setup" service. The following messages appeared in dmesg:

Disabling hotkeys-setup took care of the error messages, and appears to have solved the problem. -- rdesktop ctrl key gets stuck on randomly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
