I can second this bug with the build of Brasero 0.8.2 in Ubuntu 8.10 (amd64 version). VCD Imager is installed as are all other dependencies and "suggested" packages.
STEPS: A: Create a new video project B: Add video files of any kind to it. This originally happened to me when I was using MPEG files produced by Avidemux's VCD preset but it's the same for whatever video files I throw at it. EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR: I expected Brasero to take my VCD-compliant MPEGs and burn a VCD upon my clicking the "burn" button. ENCOUNTERED BEHAVIOUR: Brasero pops up a window called "Disc Burning Setup" that asks me to select a disc to write to (either my CD-R drive or an image file) and tells me that the disc can be recorded.
