Public bug reported: I have a BCM4322 Broadcom wireless device running on Ubuntu 8.10 w. linux kernel 2.6.27-9-generic. Using Network-manager I'm able to connect to an Ad-hoc network using WEP passphrase, however I cannot create an Ad-hoc network. To exclude the possibility of a bug in Network-manager I removed network-manager and avahi, installed firestarter, dhcp-server and set an Ad-hoc network in /etc/network/interfaces. It doesn't work.
This is what I get: $ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. pan0 no wireless extensions. eth1 IEEE 802.11 Nickname:"" Access Point: Not-Associated and typing "iconfig" I can see TX errors in the eth1 interface associated with the wireless card. I had the same problem in another computer with a BCM4311 Broadcom wireless device. There, I was able to solve by installing ndiswrapper and using a Windows XP driver. This shows that my networking settings do work. However, with the BCM4322 I cannot make ndiswrapper to work. I'm including my Ad-hoc network-settings that work well with ndiswrapper in case someone needs to test. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- wl driver doesn't work on Ad-hoc mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313293 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
